the visionary behind the vision
Meet Myriam Innocent, the visionary behind Health Chord.
Myriam has been in the nursing profession for almost 17 years and has worked as a Nurse Practitioner for the past 12 years. Throughout her career, she has worked in all sectors of health care. From starting her career in a busy inner city Hospital to both provincial and federal correctional institutions, and working in the most remote parts of this province in the position of the only most responsible provider for an entire flying access community for several years has allowed her to be well versed in the creation, implementation and maintenance of programs that have next to no resources but has been successful in grant writing for organizations and getting these programs and services up and running. She has worked as a second attendant to midwives in the north, public health, sexual health, home care, and geriatric care provision. Having expertise in addictions and mental health, she understands the difficulties that both patients and providers confront when trying to access health services. Not only does she serve as a provider, but she also acts as a patient advocate and a patient herself. A fellow Francophile, she ended up pursuing further education to provide clients in the greater Toronto are with more access to mental health services in French. She is a lifelong learner and believes that you can have multiple interests that fuel your passion.

It is those challenges that led her to opening her own private practice and consulting firm, which she has both successfully created and run to this date. Because of her travels in the most remote north, she has met fabulous patient care providers and nurses who carry a wealth of knowledge across the health care sector. COVID-19 just further revealed the weaknesses in our health care infrastructure and patients, and health care providers alike are paying the consequences for the lack of resources and staffing. Let health chord help orchestrate the intricate invaluable pieces of your organization to work in a meaningful symphonist way.
